Personal
1) Family information : I am originally from Connecticut, and I went to anesthesia school in NYC. After graduation, I went to California for my first anesthesia job. I met my husband, Bruce in Los Angeles. He owned a bike shop, and I actually bought a bike from him. We use to race bikes together. We eventually got married, and had our two children. Alexia is now 9, and Jordan is 6. We moved to Vermont in 2003 to be closer to both of our families on the East Coast.
2) Hobbies or Pastimes: Sailing, cycling, skiing, running and horseback riding.
Thought Provoking
1) Who inspired or encouraged you early in your life which contributed to where you are today? When I was 16 years old I was working at a fast food restaurant. I was influenced by a paramedic and the EMT's that frequently attended the restaurant, while I was on duty. They encouraged me to observe on the ambulance, and to eventually become a member of the rescue squad. I got my CPR card, and I became an EMT prior to becoming an RN.
2) If by magic you could create or invent something that could be used in your anesthesia practice, what would that be?
A nontoxic Local Anesthetic.
